We are so excited to host our wedding weekend at Château de Mercuès, a 13th-century castle overlooking rolling vineyards and the River Lot in the heart of Occitanie. The château is known for its Michelin-starred restaurant, award-winning wines, and beautifully restored rooms that blend historic charm with quiet luxury.

Staying at the Château
We have reserved the entire château exclusively for our celebration, and our hope is for everyone to stay on-site together for the nights of Friday, June 12th, and Saturday, June 13th 2026. It’s a big part of what will make the weekend feel connected and special. Because the château is in the countryside, there are no Ubers or Lyfts and very limited taxis, so staying on-site will make the weekend much more relaxed and seamless.
We have planned the room layout so that each couple will have a room available to them, with additional rooms arranged for families of four or more who were invited as a family unit. All guest rooms are similar in comfort and style, with each including a king bed that can be converted into two twin beds (with the option to add an extra bed), and en suite bathrooms with bathtubs and showers.
If our final guest count exceeds the château’s room capacity (which occasionally happens with destination weddings), we will help coordinate lovely nearby accommodations just a few minutes away, same setting, same style, and we will provide transportation so everyone is included in all events with no extra logistics.
Rooms at the château are €250 per night plus tax, and once RSVPs are confirmed, we will share a private booking link for you to secure your stay. No need to make any arrangements now, we’ll guide everyone through booking once we know who is joining us.
Meals & Drinks
Throughout our three days and two nights together, each guest will enjoy six meals prepared by the château’s Michelin-starred culinary team, including breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Expect refined French cuisine rooted in the Cahors region, featuring seasonal local ingredients and wines produced on the estate. All food and drink are included with the room, simply arrive and enjoy.
Château de Mercuès produces its own award-winning Malbec, grown on the surrounding hillsides and aged in oak barrels beneath the château. Guests can explore the stone cellars, where barrels line the vaulted halls, and enjoy a glass of rich, velvety red with notes of blackberry, spice, and French terroir.
About Château de Mercuès
Perched on a hilltop overlooking the Lot Valley, Château de Mercuès is a 13th-century castle transformed into a luxury retreat, the kind of place that feels quietly suspended in time. The approach winds upward through rolling vineyards and cypress trees until the castle’s stone towers come into view, standing watch over the valley as they have for nearly 800 years.
Inside, the château still carries the spirit of its medieval past: winding staircases worn smooth by centuries of footsteps, vaulted dining rooms lit by the glow of candlelight, and courtyards where warm evening air drifts through open archways. The views stretch in every direction, vineyards, lavender fields, the slow curve of the river below, and soft golden light over the hills in late afternoon. Beyond the castle walls, an elegant semi-Olympic outdoor swimming pool overlooks the valley, surrounded by vines and centuries-old stone, a serene place to unwind under the southern French sun.
For centuries, the château served as the summer residence of the Counts and Bishops of Cahors, a sanctuary of calm, celebration, and long meals shared with wine from the surrounding terroir. Today, that legacy continues. The château blends its historic character with warm hospitality, thoughtful comfort, and understated French elegance.
